How to find a sports calendar subscription link

Short answer: In the team app, look for Sync, Subscribe, or Export calendar and copy the webcal:// or https ICS link. It's a live feed, so schedule changes flow through.

A calendar subscription link (often webcal:// or an https ICS URL) is how team apps hand you a live feed of games and practices. Here is what to look for — with pointers to official help docs.

What is the link called?

Coaches do not email a magic Home Team file. They use their team app. Almost every modern sports platform can publish a subscribe/sync feed. In the UI it may be called:

  • Subscribe to calendar
  • Sync calendar / Schedule sync
  • Export calendar / iCal / ICS
  • Add to Apple Calendar / Google Calendar

The important part is a durable link you can copy. One-time CSV downloads go stale; subscription links update when the coach changes the schedule.

TeamSnap (official docs)

TeamSnap's help center documents calendar subscribe/export from the web schedule. In short: open the team on the web, go to Schedule → Settings → Sync Calendar / Export, then copy the calendar link. Details and variations (including all-teams views) are in TeamSnap's own articles:

Menu labels can move between TeamSnap products; when in doubt, trust the official article over a screenshot on a blog.

GameChanger (official docs)

GameChanger documents Schedule Sync inside the team settings. From their help article: open the team → gear icon → Schedule Sync → Sync Schedule to Your Calendar, then choose Apple or Google — or copy the calendar link when you need to paste it elsewhere. Full steps:

Note from GameChanger: staff, players, and parent/guardian accounts sync games and practices; followers may only sync games. Check their article for the latest roles.

SportsEngine (official docs)

SportsEngine publishes several calendar-subscribe articles. On web calendar pages, look for an iCal feed icon; in MySE, Schedule → Sync Schedule → Other Calendar → Copy is documented. Mobile subscribe flows are covered separately. Start here:

What about other team apps?

LeagueApps, Sports Connect, Bound, PlayMetrics, and many league portals also expose subscribe/export calendar links. We do not invent menu paths we have not verified. Search that app's help center for “calendar,” “iCal,” “subscribe,” or “sync schedule.” If you find a webcal:// or ICS URL, Home Team can use it.

Paste into Home Team

Once you have the link, open Home Team → add calendar / paste. Home Team never logs into the team app; it only reads the feed you provide. Repeat for each kid's teams, then invite your co-parent and up to four free guests.

From there you get one color-coded schedule, leave alarms, who's driving, and guest passes for grandparents — covered in our guides on combining team calendars, multiple kids, and grandparents.

Troubleshooting

  • Copied the team website instead of the feed? The URL should look like a calendar subscription, not a marketing page.
  • webcal:// vs https:// — both are common; paste what the team app gives you.
  • Empty feed? Some apps hide subscribe until the schedule has events.
  • Stale times in Google Calendar? Google can delay ICS refreshes; apps that read the feed directly often update sooner.

Why this matters for Home Team

Home Team never asks for your TeamSnap password. The calendar subscription link is the intentional, coach-approved way platforms publish schedules. Paste it once per team, and the family schedule stays current when games move — which is the whole point of combining feeds for multiple kids and inviting grandparents with free guest passes.

If a team app truly has no calendar link, say so in the early-access profile questions when you join the list; knowing which leagues still lack feeds helps us plan. Until then, any app that offers Sync / Subscribe / Export calendar is enough to get started.

When does Home Team launch?

Home Team early access is open on iPhone now, ahead of the App Store launch. Early-access yearly pricing on iPhone is $59.99 for year one (reg. $79.99) if you start yearly within 14 days of launch.
