Combine TeamSnap, GameChanger, and more into one sports calendar

Short answer: Copy each team app's calendar subscription link (Sync, Subscribe, or Export calendar) and paste it into Home Team. Games and practices land in one color-coded schedule that updates when coaches make changes.

One kid on TeamSnap, another on GameChanger, a third on SportsEngine — and none of those apps show the others. Here is how families pull them into one place.

Why does every team use a different app?

Coaches choose the tool their league already uses. You do not get a vote. So your phone ends up with three team apps, two group chats, and a paper flyer on the fridge. Double-bookings hide until Saturday morning.

The fix is not “make every coach switch.” The fix is a family layer that reads the calendar feeds those apps already publish.

Calendar subscription links are the bridge

Most youth sports platforms can publish an iCal / webcal / ICS feed — often labeled Sync, Subscribe, or Export calendar. That link is a live feed of games and practices. Paste it into a family schedule app, and you stop retyping the season by hand.

Home Team works with any team app that offers a calendar subscription link. TeamSnap, GameChanger, SportsEngine, LeagueApps, Sports Connect, Bound, and others are examples — not an exclusive list. If your app has a calendar link, it can feed the schedule.

What one combined schedule should give you

  • Color-coded kids and teams so a glance tells you whose practice it is
  • Overlap flags when two events collide
  • Leave alarms that account for drive time and “be there early”
  • Who's driving so the household knows the plan
  • Guest passes so grandparents follow along without another paid seat

A merged ICS feed in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar is a good start. A sports family app goes further when it turns that feed into leave times, rides, and guest views.

How does Home Team combine feeds?

You paste each team's calendar subscription link once. Home Team pulls games and practices into one color-coded schedule. It does not log into your team apps; it only reads the links you add. When a coach changes a time in TeamSnap or GameChanger, the feed updates and your family schedule follows.

Both parents share one household. Up to four guests — grandma, grandpa, a neighbor — get free guest passes: schedule with directions, leave alarms from their own address, optional ride claiming if you enable it. Guests never see your home address and cannot edit or invite others.

A weekend that used to break

Imagine Saturday: Soccer at 9 (TeamSnap), baseball at 9:30 (GameChanger), volleyball at 1 (SportsEngine). Without one view, you only notice the soccer/baseball overlap when you are already in the car. With one schedule, the overlap is obvious on Thursday — early enough to ask grandpa to take baseball while you take soccer.

Tips that keep the merge honest

  • Use the team's calendar link, not the team's public web page URL.
  • Label each feed by kid and sport when you add it.
  • Prefer subscription links over one-time CSV exports so rainouts and field changes flow in.
  • Keep coaches in their apps for RSVPs and chat; use Home Team for the family logistics layer.

Parents stay out of the coach apps

You still RSVP and read coach messages where the team lives. Home Team is not trying to be another TeamSnap. It is the place the household looks when the question is “where is everyone going, when do we leave, and who is driving?”

That split keeps coaches happy (they keep their tool) and keeps your kitchen counter calmer (you stop opening five apps to build a Saturday plan).

When does Home Team launch?

Home Team early access is open on iPhone now, ahead of the App Store launch. Early-access yearly pricing on iPhone is $59.99 for the first year (reg. $79.99) if you start yearly within 14 days of launch.
